I have mixed feelings about the past summer... some good things happened (I finally got DSL, I got a few games, I got my first girlfriend), but I also regret all the things I wanted to do, but never did (go to a game expo, go to a Weird Al concert, do anything at all this summer). I remember, back at the beginning of summer, I was trying to get a girlfriend... I would get my hopes up over every girl I met... I liked Amber and Lauren, and was liked by Shari and Rachel, all in one short 90-day period... I thought I was bisexual and had a short stint of gay feelings... but in retrospect, it seems it was just infatuation/curiosity. I rented my first game, Ikaruga for GameCube. I went to the mall for the first time in a year. And, as always, we went school shopping. Like I said, I have mixed feelings about it...
I guess that's it. Next time: see how school started, and my fears were reinforced.

Sigh... a week left of summer. Where did it go? I don't think I did one damn thing all summer. I feel like I wasted the perfect opportunity.
I've gotten in some fights at MZ and made some new friends, and now I think I've found the perfect girl. Her name is Maddie (Yutai on MZ). She likes games and anime, and she has a PS2 and GCN. Best of all, she loves me too! But what am I going to do about Rachel? She really loves me too, but I think Maddie is better for me. I don't know... I haven't talked to Rachel since she left for Texas on the 10th... maybe it will just break itself off.

My friends at MZ (Jessica, Rudy, James, and Erich) all tried to help, but I haven't put their suggestions to good use yet.

Oh yeah, I got Metroid Prime and a guide for it in the past week.

Oh, and Rachel's going back home to Texas.

Just some footnotes, I guess.

O_O It's been quite a while, hasn't it. Well, I have some problems lately. Rather than write it all again, I'll take it from a post I made on MZ a few days ago. (What is MZ, you ask? A small message board community. I'm not giving away the address because I don't want anybody invading it.)
Anyway, here's what I wrote:
First of all, let's start with simple things. My computer. My computer won't detect our CD burner, DVD drive, or printer, which means I have to either save everything on the hard drive or write it down, and I can't run any CDs. I have dial up, so everything goes excruciatingly slow. Any downloads I have slow everything down even more.
Now, my parents. My parents treat me like a little kid. I'm lucky if my dad lets me stay up past 10. Can't watch anything on TV that's above PG, or else my dad thinks "It's getting kind of raw" and makes us change the channel. If my mom hears me typing (our computer's in the living room), she asks me what I'm doing or who I'm talking to. If I ever told her I have any friends online, she'd probably ban me from the computer, since she's paranoid. She gives me time limits on the computer, only letting me on for a few hours at a time, and only twice or three times a day. When I'm not on the computer, she asks me what my friends and I talk about. I have to do well in school (if I have even an 89, my dad is mad at me), just because I was better than the other kids in first grade or whatever. And don't even think about telling them I'm bi. I'm the last person in my family that can have kids, so I need to find a wife and have kids, with my genes. Yeah, no adoption or anything. Have to have at least two males, so the family branches out again.
My sister is 12 and the most annoying 12-year-old in the world. She's very immature, even compared to other 12-year-olds. While my 12-year-old girlfriend goes and buys thongs, my sister goes and buys "Bratz" dolls. She annoys me all the time, and she can call me names or whatever she wants, but the instant I do anything to her, my parents immediately jump to her side, as if she's defenseless. I have scars on my arms from where she digs in with her fingernails when she's mad at me.
Now, my girlfriend. She's 12, 13 in November. Now, this is where her age really matters. Her parents are divorced. Her mom lives in Texas and her dad lives about an hour away here in Pennsylvania. She lives in Texas with her mom during the school year and her dad during the summers. I've never even seen her, only talked to her on the Internet using a chain of friends. She's supposedly pretty and skinny, but after being rejected so many times (she's my first girlfriend ever) I don't care about looks anymore. Anyway, when she turns 13, she has to choose between her mom and her dad over who gets custody of her. She's hinted that she's going to choose her mom. She claims her mom is cool and lets her friends come down during spring break (Me going to Texas in spring to meet a girl I met on the Internet? Yeah, right. My mom knows about her, but I just said I met her at my cousin's house), but I don't think only being able to talk to her online for months on end is very cool at all. So I have the choice of living with this or breaking it off and trying to get somebody else.
Which is a chore in itself, because I'm about 50-60 pounds overweight for my height. I tried walking 1.6 miles every day, up and over three hills. But I haven't gotten my weight below 215 all summer. All the girls around here are shallow, only liking the jocks and the "sk8ers". None of them play video games. Try saying "pwned!" around them and getting a positive response. Yeah. How am I supposed to open up and have fun around anybody like that?
So that's my situation. Can you help any?
To tell the truth, even all that isn't the whole story. I left out quite a bit, as I realized later. I might post more if I remember it.

Well, after that last post, I have to make sure nobody in my family ever sees my blog, or else my ass is in trouble.

Yeah, I know, no posts for a week. I'd rather not talk about it...
We went to Wal-Mart in Elmira, but -- Surprise! -- I didn't get anything.
Here's a real eye-opener... I think I've turned bi. That's right, bisexual. As in, liking both men and women. But it's not like I'm attracted to any guy on the street. See, I met this guy on the Internet about a week ago, and he helped me with some problems I was having in Photoshop. There was just one thing wrong with him: he was bi. It creeped me out at first, but the more and more I thought about going on a date with a guy or kissing a guy (this is the point where you're probably going O_o), the more it didn't seem so bad after all. Mom's going to call DirecTV soon to see about getting our dish updgraded. They said they were going to come and install a new dish for some reason, but they never came, so Mom's going to remind them. Nothing special.
Wednesday (yesterday) I went to Seth's house. We didn't really do anything that great. Just watched a movie, did stuff on the computer, walked the dog...nothing special.
Shari got mad at me for some reason. She claims she broke up with her boyfriend. I told her about how Rachel likes me, and she said something like "I was going to ask you out again, but now...". Then she got all mad. O_o
I guess then she got her friends to gang up on me, because then all these people I didn't know started insulting me.
So then somebody named "heavyneck[won't give out the numbers at the end]" talked to me. I said "one insult and you're blocked". After finding out she wasn't one of the "attackers", I later found out it was... Jennifer Haldeman! See, she was this girl I fought with in elementary school, but now it turns out she got over it, and...uh...I didn't. So then we got to be all buddy-buddy. I just felt like using that title.
Okay, here's what's happened. I "broke up" with Shari, but we're still friends. (Damn it, I have too many female just-friends.) She told me the screen name of one of her friends (Tristan) that she thought might be interested in me. Turns out she already has a boyfriend. So she refers me to her friend Rachel, who says sure. She lives in PA with her mom during the summer, and with her dad in Texas during the school year. Oh boy, another girl with a broken family. That always mixes the situation up nicely, doesn't it? Also, Shari's friend's (Tristan) boyfriend said soon afterward, that he was trying to hook up his friend and Rachel, and that "[they were] a better couple". Naturally, I disagree. Call me the argumentative type, but I don't want any outsiders f***ing with my relationships. Anyway, somehow we got to be...not quite friends, but not quite enemies, either. Later, Tristan told me that Rachel said she (Rachel) wanted me back. So I told Tristan's boyfriend, who surprisingly wasn't offended. He made some penis-related jokes, but I suppose that's normal. So now, I'm trying to hook up with Rachel. I'll be talking to her tomorrow morning, and trust me, you'll be the first third-party...uh...people to know what happens.
Tomorrow on A Gamer's Life...

Okay, yesterday we went swimming in the creek down by the big metal bridge. That was okay, but my sister couldn't keep up with me. "Slow down! Wait!" -_-
Today we went to Troy, a nearby town. We went to the hospital for my mom to get a mammogram, went to my mom's friend (and my cousin) Cathy's house, and they saw her baby. Oh yeah, before that we went to a small store and I got a soda. Then we went to two different dollar stores, and I got two boxes of Raisinets, two "new car smell" air fresheners, and a bag of Doritos. Total cost: $4.50. Then we went to McDonalds, and I got another SEGA Happy Meal toys. Is it normal for a 14-year-old to get two Happy Meals in a span of three days? I don't really know why, but we did. And though it was outside, I had to clean house all that morning. Cleaning house. For janitors. The irony is killing me.
Monday, Seth came over. Meh, it was okay. Seth was kind of annoying, though. He can't take a joke. I can't wait till he sends me some hate mail after seeing this.
And today, we went to the store. Oh yeah, we went to the library and rented Tommy Boy. My family hadn't seen it yet. They thought it was funny.
But enough about me, tell me about yourself! If you're reading this, send me an email at Skylar_Wilcox at operamail dot com. I want to see who my readers are! Thanks.
...
Oh come on, it's not that hard to send an email. Get off yer dead ass and do it already!

Let's see...yesterday...I played Sonic Adventure DX, and beat it as Sonic and E-102. I really put this off, didn't I? Hmm...well, enough excuses. On to the report.
Err...let's see...well, Monday I didn't do anything, that I can remember...Tuesday I went to my grandma's house and moved stuff into our car. And Wednesday...
I got Sonic Adventure DX! Yeah, yesterday morning my mom had a doctor's appointment, so we stayed at my grandma's house and watched Jerry Springer. Nobody else was there. Then we went to Kmart and got...some stuff. We got a new remote that works with our satellite, TV, and VCR. The one we had before didn't work with the VCR. Or maybe it did, and we just never figured it out...
Then we went across the parking lot to Sam Goody and got Sonic Adventure DX. Then we went home and played it for five hours. Fun.

Well, I survived Jaryn having her little friend over last night. I slacked off. There. Happy?
Okay. Yesterday we went shopping. I spilled soda all over my shirt and pants, so I waited in the car while my grandma went into Wal-Mart and bought me a new outfit. After all, we had a great-grandma to visit!
That's what we did next. We visited my great-grandmother in the retirement home. Yeah, that was okay.
Then we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. After eating three cinnamon sticks, four pieces of pizza, and part of a p'zone, I was full for a few hours.
After that, we went to Wal-Mart again, and I went in this time. My sister got the new Harry Potter book (it was half price because it was kind of beat up, but still pretty good for the first day out). They had about 30 copies left. I didn't get anything... -_-
Then we went home. Whee, fun.
Oh yeah, then later we went to see Bruce Almighty. That was pretty funny, but it still had that Jim Carrey-style immature humor. You know, the deep-throated voice thing, and the talking gibberish thing. Okay, maybe you don't know what I mean, but I don't really know how to explain it any better than that.

Okay, today my mom yelled at me all morning, and...a little into the afternoon. My sister went to her little friend's house, and...ugh...now she's spending the night here. I think I'll print out a Skies of Arcadia Legends guide and lock my door. If my room had a door.

LONG POST TODAY
Okay, here's what happened at Dave's house, hour-by-hour:
9 PM: Went to Dave's house. Dave installed his new computer, Jordan and I watched the satellite feed from the living room (Dave's house has a setup where, whatever you watch in the living room can be seen on the TVs in his room and his parents' room).
10 PM: Played ATV Offroad Fury 2 out in the camper.
11 PM: I think this was when we watched a documentary on the Hulk movie. Dave knocked a bowl of macaroni on the floor, and it splattered all over. The dogs ate it.
12 Midnight: We decided to go swimming in the pool. It was cold at first, but since water changes temperature slower than land, it soon felt warmer. (Avoiding pee-pee jokes)
1 AM: Watched Junkyard Wars. Now that I think about it, I think the macaroni fiasco (wow, that would be a good name for a band) happened around midnight, not around 1 AM. Anyway, I was eating popcorn then. I think I ate popcorn around this time, too. Damn, I eat a lot of popcorn. Ate some today, too.
2 AM: I think this is when we finally fell asleep. Well, everybody except me. Jordan and Dave lay on each side of me, just laying there with a pillow under their heads on the mattress on Dave's floor. Man, they're no sleeping beauties.
3 AM: Half-asleep, I listened to infomercials (Dave left the TV on, but not on porn or anything good like that, on frickin' TLC). I listened to some thing about feeding starving children in third-world countries, and some Ab Roller or something. I think that one repeated three times in thirty minutes.
4 AM-7 AM: Finally fell asleep, on and off. Moved around, tried to sleep somewhere where I actually had room. Tried sleeping down at the foot of the mattress, toward the back of the room. My right side was below Jordan's feet, and he kicked me just about half a foot away from my crotch. Close one.
8 AM: Jordan eventually woke up. We ate cereal (I had Frosted Mini Chex or whatever they're called, he went all old-school on me and had Froot Loops, but a generic brand. I guess maybe that's not so old-school after all. Wait, how old is Food Club?) and watched little kid shows. We learned about how an elephant can turn into a butterfly and how, with lots of water and sunlight, little kids can grow into flowers. Dave was still asleep. Lazy ass. I briefly contemplated eating an onion bagel, thinking that it wouldn't taste much different from a normal bagel, and when I went for the cream cheese, I found it to be...Vegetable Flavor! Ugh, it's like somebody took a perfectly good breakfast and attacked it with a salad.
9 AM: Dave got the wise idea of putting a little trailer on the Bronco II. So after Jordan burned the clutch (I can still smell the smoke), they got it finally attached. They drove back to the house, and I sat on it when they parked it. Fun.
10 AM: We went swimming again. We were the only ones there, so Jordan turned on the CD player and put in Linkin Park. Things are going good until...ugh, Dave puts in 50 Cent. God, I hate 50 Cent. The guy can't even speak frickin' English, what's he doing swearing every other word?
11 AM-2 PM: We went swimming...again, only this time it was at the creek. I brought my Discman, and Dave brought a speaker to plug into it. We played one song, that wasn't even that loud. Yeah, turns out Dave forgot to get the speaker with the volume control on it. Smart. We waded upstream, and floated downstream. I have the scratch marks on my belly to prove it. Pretty fun, though. Oh yeah, we ate lunch there too. I had a handful of regular chips, I don't know what Dave had. Jordan had some peanut butter, dip-your-finger-in-it-style, then he had it dip-some-chips-in-it-style. Yeah, they kept floating their asses down the creek, but I turned around and walked back. I beat them back home. Later, I saw them walk past my house. Right through the lawn. Meh.

Nothing really happened today either. Er...here's what happened. We went to a graduation party for my dad's friend Mike's daughter Melanie (sp?). I was pretty bored, just sitting there, didn't know anybody. Until I see one of my friends that I haven't seen in three years! His name is Cody Wolf. So Cody and I were talking, telling each other what's happened the past three years, and giving our email addresses. Well, I'm still waiting to see him online.
Now that you're done listening to that...
Um, I don't really have anything else to say. She says she thinks of Shari as a little sister, and she wants us to get to know each other better before we get serious. Funny thing is, I don't remember anybody getting serious... Oh well, it's okay. I don't have a problem with it.
Now that I think about it, can't you do both at the same time? Now I'm going to tell you about today. My mom and dad had to work today, so I went to Dave's house. Not much happened most of the day, we played PS2, watched a movie, looked at stuff on the computer and rode around on the lawn in his Bronco. Until the afternoon...
Dave's friend (and...er...some of her friends, I guess) called, and they heard me saying stuff in the background, so one of them wanted to talk to me. I basically just annoyed the hell out of her (something I'm pretty good at) until she started using salty language. At this point, Dave took the phone back, so I went to the other phone in Dave's mom's room. Dave heard me, so he came in and disconnected the phone. When he left, I just plugged it back in and picked up the phone again. This repeated for about three more times before Dave gave up and lay on his parents' bed, talking on the cordless phone. I sat at the desk at the other phone, and one of the girl's...friends (I guess) got on another phone, while the other girl and somebody's little sister raised hell in the background. And lo, much screaming on the other end occurred, and eventually, somebody asked me if I wanted to go out with "Sheri" (one of the girls, about my age, who was on the other phone). I said "sure, why not". So then, perfect time, my mom comes and I have to go home. From there, I get on the Internet and talk to this girl. She asks me what I look like, I tell her that I have brown eyes, brown hair, about 6 feet tall and a little overweight, but I'm working out. She asks how much I weigh, I say "erm...do you really want to know?", and she says sure. I tell her "215 lbs. I lost 25 lbs recently" and she just says "oh my god". I tell her not to sound so disgusted, and that I don't really look huge or anything, and she leaves. Picky bitch. See folks, this is exactly what I'm talking about when I say that people put too much emphasis on looks. People act as if I threw up on them or something. The server hasn't worked all morning, so this is my first chance to update my blog. Sorry I missed the chance to update yesterday! Summer vacation started yesterday. I went to school for two hours to watch a stupid award ceremony...zzz. Then I came home and talked to Lauren. I told her I hoped something happened someday, and she agreed. Yes! Anyway, we decided to just be friends and get to know each other better over the course of the next few years, then decide how far we want to take it when we actually meet in person. I went to Dave's house, and he's supportive (if not a bit mockingly) in my attempts to get a girlfriend. He tried taking a picture of me, but it turned out awful. And then my mom came and took me to my sister's softball game. I just sat in the car for a while, then in the bathroom (not the nicest facilities in the world, by the way), then on the stands, staring at the ground. And so ends my tale of yesterday.

So, you're probably wondering what I'll do this summer (besides think about Lauren, dream about Lauren, and talk to Lauren every chance I get). Well, not much, really. I might go to my friends' houses a few times, or go to the movies. But my second priority (yes, Lauren's the first, I hold her [I wish, lol] higher on my priority list than myself) will be to lose some weight this summer. I've had this damn gut since I was like 8, and I'm absolutely sick of it. I'm going to make every effort I can to get thinner, which will in turn (hopefully) boost my happiness and self-confidence. I've put it off long enough, and it's about time I made another attempt (I've made half-assed attempts at this before) to actually do something about it. I've started walking a mile every day, and I'll probably bump it up a little once I feel I can handle it. Speaking of which...what am I sitting on my butt telling you all this for? (no offense, Lauren, my love...) I need to get outside! See you!

The ultimate awesomeness occurred today: I scored a pic of Lauren! Sure, it wasn't from her, it was from some guy (I don't think I ever learned his name) that used to like her, but it's still a pic! Okay, I guess it would've been more awesome if she had given it to me herself, but I'll take what I can get, and I'm glad I got this! Even if it doesn't show her face...
Lauren, sweetie, if you're reading this, send me a pic of your face, okay? If you must know, I'm using it not just because I want pics of the most important girl in my life (though that is a big part of it), I also want to draw a picture of you (I'll send it to you, of course), and I can't do it without the face.
Also, will you tell me your other email address again? I accidentally closed the messenger window (I know, I know, I'm an idiot).
To anybody else: no, you're not getting the pic. So don't ask. Nyah :P
Lauren, honey, I want to have a talk with you about something that other guy (sorry, I never found out his name!) told me. Don't worry, it's nothing bad.
Umm, now that I'm done swooning over Lauren for now, I have just one side note: tomorrow's the last day of school! Woo hoo!

For some reason, I feel like that last post was a big mistake, and that if Lauren sees it, she'll be really offended. But...um...I hope not.
I guess I have to stop being afraid of revealing my feelings, to be more open about them, and to ignore the age-old idea that having any kind of emotions at all signifies weakness. Sorry, John Wayne, but we're not all soulless, macho ass-blasters with no guilts, regrets, or feelings whatsoever like you are. Times have changed, people, deal with it. People have feelings now.
*end of rant*
Um...now that that's out of the way...Lauren, I wasn't fazed at all by that email saying that you "don't really know me that well" (not exact quotation). See, there's this girl at school I like, Amber, and for a while I haven't really known whether she likes me or not. She knows I like her, and she smiles at me. Well, today she was saying...um...suggestive stuff to me, and I think she was sort of dared to do that. She kept this up throughout the day, and I just smiled to her and agreed with what she said. In directed study (a study hall held in homeroom), she and her friends come over to me and they try to pressure me into asking her out. I tell her that I think that it's all a cruel trick, and my suspicions are supported when I see them over across the room talking and...laughing. Probably at me. They come back over, and Amber leaves to talk to some other girls for a minute. Since they're only a few seats away, I overhear them talking. I hear Amber utter the words, "Say it, say it!" when she's talking about a past event, and that only fuels my skepticism further. I saw her putting her arm around some other guy earlier that day, and when questioned about it, she replied that the guy was just her friend. Then, at the end of the day, I see her standing near a locker talking to who I think is the same guy. This is really starting to piss me off. Well, now that you've heard the whole story, what do you think? Is she paying so much attention to me because she likes me, or is this an elaborate, oh-so-cruel hoax? But first, I wonder if I have any new email...

Ugh, the three-day weekend has taken a turn for the worse. I'm spending the night at my aunt's house because my parents are going to an alumni banquet. How will I play my GameCube and read my new EGM in peace, with four prepubescent little girls running around? Meh, there are a few bright spots. My aunt has broadband and has no problem with letting me use the computer, and there's a TV I can use for my GameCube. I'm leaving at 4 PM EST, so I better start packing. Time is -1 1/2 H-hour. Maybe I can still access Blogger from up there, but if not, this is Skylar saying "see you on the other side".

Well, the week's finally over.
